Scleroderma foundation's mission is threefold: 1) support to help patients and their families cope with Scleroderma through mutual support programs, peer counseling, physician referrals, and educational information. 2) education to promote public awareness and education through patient and health professional seminars, literature, and publicity campaigns. And 3) research to stimulate and support research to improve treatments and, ultimately, find the cause of and cure for Scleroderma.

Education and Support

The scleroderma foundation and its chapters offer educational programs to individuals who have scleroderma and to their caregivers and family members who are also impacted by the life changes caused by the disease. The foundation's annual "national patient education conference", in recent years has been attended by over 670 individuals.

The scleroderma foundation funded peer-reviewed, scleroderma research projects. Each award was $150,000 spread over multiple years. Four were two-year established investigator awards, and three were three-year new investigator awards.
