philanthropy.org and 990 Scout are free to read. These terms cover using the public data, having an account, claiming an organization, and paying through the site.
Organization pages are built from IRS Form 990 filings and the IRS Business Master File. You may read, search, cite and share them. Data is shown as filed, and filings can be late, incomplete or wrong; we do not guarantee it is current or error-free, and nothing here is legal, tax or investment advice. Please do not scrape the site at a rate that degrades it for others, and do not use it to harass anyone.
You sign in with an email link. You are responsible for what happens under your account, and you must give accurate information. We may suspend an account that abuses the site or others. You can close your account at any time by emailing [email protected].
Only someone authorized to speak for a nonprofit may claim its page. Claims are checked against the organization's Form 990 officers, its email domain, and documents you upload; a claim made with false evidence will be rejected or revoked. A claim gives you edit access to that public page and the ability to post updates as the organization. Content you add must be accurate and yours to share. We may edit or remove content, and revoke a claim, if these terms are broken. The IRS filing itself is never altered.
You keep ownership of what you post. By posting, you let us display it on the site. The site's design, software and original writing belong to philanthropy.org.
