KAND is a neurodegenerative disorder caused by mutations in the KIF1A gene and causes a constellation of medical challenges, including spastic paraplegia, epilepsy, intellectual disability, optic nerve atrophy, cerebellar atrophy, peripheral neuropathy, and autism.
