"baba": in march april 2021 kitka launched development of a major new commissioned vocal theatre work "baba" by slovenian author composer and director karmina silec. Income and expenses incurred in fiscal year 2021-2022 include collaborator commissioning fees travel expenses and vocalist rehearsal fees for a three-week long project…

"wintersongs 2021"

After a two year pandemic hiatus kitka returned to live performances in december 2021 with our sold-out "wintersongs 2021" performances at the "222 performing arts center" in healdsburg and "freight and salvage coffeehouse" in berkeley.

Virtual workshops and community sings were sponsored by the kitka institute. To adapt to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic kitka pivoted the educational and community engagement offerings to online formats.
