ASSOCIATION'S MISSION IS TO PROVIDE FIRE SUPPRESSION ON TIMBER AND GRAZING LANDS IN DOUGLAS COUNTY. THEY ALSO ENGAGE IN SPECIAL PROJECTS WITH TO UTILIZE EMPLOYEES DURING THE OFF-SEASON. THE PROJECTS CAN INCLUDE FUELS REDUCTION AND OTHER FIRE PREVENTION WORK TO MAINTAIN STEADY EMPLOYEMENT OF TRAINED AND QUALIFIED EMPLOYEES. WE FOUGHT 97 fires.

Wildland firefighting is our mail purpose. If a fire start is found to be willfully, maliciously, or negligently started, all firefighting costs maybe billed. The revenue received is for the billable fires.

Special projects are performed in our off season such as: fuels mitigations, tree planting inspections, roadway maintenance, camera dedtection etc to retain highly qualified seasonal employees that otherwise might seek other employment.
