Where the work happens
Ocracoke alive sponsored the ocrafolk festival in june, providing the community with an event that features performances by musical groups and storytellers as well as a variety of artisans and craftsmen who display their work. The event is a fundraiser for ocracoke alive's year-round programming in the community.
Ocracoke alive outreach programs include activities for ocracoke students as well as adults. These programs focus on community enrichment for island residents, as well as serving as a vehicle for sharing between the different cultural groups on ocracoke.
The deepwater theater provides an area as a homebase for our administrative functions, a multipurpose space for student and community programs, as well as storage for equipment for programs.
