Where the work happens
Au directly assisted 1484 individuals living with hiv access a range of services including health insurance ENROLLMENT/PAYMENTS, hiv and primary medical care, access to prescriptions, REFERRALS/PAYMENT for oral health care, food pantry, transportation to appointments, mental health and addiction treatment services, support groups…
Housing services included case management, assessment of housing stability and needs of individuals living with hiv to 461 individuals. Assistance with payments for rent, utilities, and mortgages was provided to 285 individuals with 128 other beneficiaries in the households to prevent homelessness.
Au's prevention department provides hiv and other sexually transmitted infection (sti) testing. Individuals testing positive are linked to medical care through referral to medical care for treatment. All individuals, positive and negative for stis, are counseled in risk reduction education.
