Olympia Ecosystems is established to protect, preserve and restore the diverse Ecosystems in and around Olympia, washington that include the freshwater, shoreline, tidal waters, grasslands and upland forests. In coordination with community members, local agencies, and other non- profit groups, we will work to ensure that these Ecosystems remain vital in perpetuity.

Restoration

Simultaneous to the deschutes river preserve restoration, oe continued restoration at its other preserves: cooper crest, west bay woods, and green cove creek. In partnership with community members, volunteers and the washington conservation corps, oe removed hundreds of thousands of invasive plants and planted 5,000 native plants.

Restoration

Olympia ecosystems (oe) continued restoration at its largest preserve, the 428 acre deschutes river preserve. Oe repaired 50 acres of hayfield and treated over 80 acres of invasive thistle and blackberry, replanted over 10,000 native willow stakes and riparian trees.

Conservation

Olympia ecosystems (oe) expanded the deschutes river preserve to include an additional 61 acres of deschutes river floodplain, enabling future landscape scale restoration of the riparian ecosystem in this reach.
