Olympia ecosystems is established to protect, preserve and restore the diverse ecosystems in and around olympia, washington that include the freshwater, shoreline, tidal waters, grasslands and upland forests. In coordination with community members, local agencies, and other non- profit groups, we will work to ensure that these ecosystems remain vital in perpetuity.

Restoration

Working with the washington conservation corps and community partners, olympia coalition for ecosystems preservation (ocep) continued restoration activities on two major sites, initiated restoration on a new site added in 2022 and conducted strategic restoration planning for an additional newly acquired site.

Acquisition

In 2022 olympia coalition for ecosystems preservation acquired nine properties associated with three different sites: four properties totaling 1.54 acres were added to west bay woods providing potential connectivity between the south and upper areas of the woods.
