The organization operates as an independent sponsor to licensed family child care providers and child care centers. The organization provided $18,762,761 in meal reimbursements to home child care operators, $1,379,325 in meal reimbursements to child care centers and $1,200 in outreach grants.

The summer food service program, also known as the summer meals program, was established to ensure that children continued to receive nutritious meals when school was not in session. When school was out, free meals were provided to kids and teens in low-income areas. This program was only applicable for 2021.
