Food Hub

Through our food hub, we connect local farmers to new markets through a value-added processing, cold storage, marketing, and food safety expertise. In 2020, we shifted our focus from farm-to-school processing to food assistance due to the pandemic.

What's Growing on

We seek to engage teachers, students, schools and the broader community in understanding and supporting LOCAL/REGIONAL food economies. When schools closed due to the pandemic, we adapted our programs to meet the needs of teachers who were all or partly remote.

Food System Development

We seek to build resilient and long-term supply chain connections that link small farmers to INSTITUTIONAL/WHOLESALE markets in our region. In 2020, we helped to design and pass a regional food strategy for the kerr-tar council of governments, and played a major role in research and engagement in the upper coastal plain council of…
