Where the work happens
Abalone Restoration Project
We have 10,000 green abalone growing on our farm facility are between 6mm and 8cm in length. We conducted12 abalone field surveys with 16 volunteers in 2021, adding to our data set on the size and distribution of abalone in Orange County.
Pismo Clam Restoration Program- We started this new restoration program restore the historic Pismo Clam. We conducted 14 pismo clam surveys in 2021 and trained 26 new volunteers. We have begun surveying Huntington Beach for broodstock size clams and have secured agreements and collaborations to begin spawning clams in 2022.
Aquaponics
Food for our future We designed a 1200 square foot aquaponics demonstration garden for Orange Coast College which was constructed and is now being used to grow food and to teach a certificated program for students.
