For over a hundred years, Uplift Northwest has been dedicated to serving the puget sound region, providing jobs and comprehensive support services to those grappling with homelessness, unemployment, underemployment, and poverty. Through our workforce development initiatives, we forge pathways to dignified, living-wage employment, empowering our community members to go from surviving to thriving.

The Temporary Staffing Social Enterprise provides employment opportunities for individuals as a pathway towards achieving their work goals. In 2020, 502 men and women connected with a temporary job in a network of 323 employers throughout the greater Seattle area.

The "Kasota" is lease for 47 single-room-occupancy units by the organization to provide workers who are homeless access to scarce affordable housing in downtown Seattle. Housing allows our clients to concentrate on achieving employment goals while living in affordable housing.

Client services includes all the job readiness support services. In 2020, 129 new men and women were hired into the employment program. In addition to the 502 people who worked through the temporary staffing social enterprise, over 300 people used the shower and laundry center; 97 people received free prescription eye glasses; 18 people…
