Weekly donations have been delivered to the Hunterswoods Fellowship house - a low-income senior living community with over 200 units every Thursday. Restonstrong SUNDAY FREE Market - A pop up grocery store staffed by more than 35 volunteers speaking over 14 languages and dialects serves 150+ households in Reston and surrounding…
Restonstrong supports the largest tent encampment in Fairfax County based out of Reston with the basic necessities incl food water and clothing. Weekly food delivery monthly trash pickup and other resources are provided by Restonstrong volunteer teams. The population has fluctuated between 50 tents at the peak to 20 in the winter.
Restonstrong's once a year fundraising initiative helps feed the many food insecure families that are unhoused and living in hotels or temporary arrangements with no kitchen access with Fully Cooked Thanksgiving meals from Harris Teeter with sides and desserts.
