Summary of the Filing
Where the work happens
During the summer of 2021, our Monte Awards (National High School Musical Theatre Awards) and Let Freedom Sing 4th of July events were live and live streamed. Combined, those shows had over 4000 viewers! Our summer classes and camps served over 100 kids with live socially-distanced and masked programming.
Christmas Carol 2020 offered 14 at-risk youth the opportunity to perform in a full-length Broadway musical, working alongside professional actors. Then, over 200 at-risk youth had the opportunity to see the production, many experiencing live theatre for the first time.
In Spring 2021, Arts Express Theatre offered 12 at-risk youth the opportunity to perform in a full-length Broadway production of West Side Story, working alongside professional actors. Over 200 at-risk teenagers had the opportunity to see the production, many experiencing live theatre for the first time via live stream.
