Funded Meals

In 2022, HelpBerkeley procured more than 50,000 free meals or meal equivalents for recipients who could not afford them in Berkeley and neighboring communities. We created a network of 20+ non-profit organizations, upstream, to source meals and groceries, and downstream, to identify recipients, and in some case to distribute further.

HelpBerkeley delivered both affordable meals and free meals/ groceries to recipients' homes in Berkeley and neighboring communities weekly through 2022. In 2020 we had created a small ecosystem in partnership with local restaurants, where we funneled them more business during the pandemic, while making it possible for them to produce…
