F.I.R.S.T. (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) presents an engineering challenge to high school teams where students build robots for competition. In 2023, forty-four teams registered to participate in judged awards and robot challenges in two Arizona events.

During the tax year two $2,500 scholarships were awarded to seven students, three $2,500 scholarships were awarded to one student, two $2,000 scholarships were awarded to two students, one $2,000 scholarship was awarded to 2 students; and two $500 scholarships were awarded to 1 student.

The employee supplemental assistance program was designed to provide an opportunity for individuals and organizations to make monetary donations to assist employees of Microchip Technology Incorporated in need of immediate assitance for reasons beyond the applicants
