Where the work happens
Tios for Hope supports education in Guatemala. Our Child Sponsorship program partners with Mana de Vida school in Escuintla. Sponsors become "aunts and uncles" to impoverished children there. The sponsor communicates with them and encourages them as they grow and change.
Tios for Hope supports justice in Guatemala. We partner with Lifting Her Up ministries which provides support to women in rural areas as well as policewomen in Guatemala City. In addition, we support Mana de Vida in developing partnerships with local authorities and other agencies to help end physical and sexual abuse/trafficking.
Tios for Hope supports health and nutrition in Guatemala. Guatemala has one of the highest rates of malnutrition for young children in the world. Tios for Hope started a nutrition project that specifically targets pregnant women and children 6 months to 3 years old. The product used is NutriListo (website listo.gt).
