  • In your own words, why do you exist?
The Lifeguard Group INC answered · Oct 2026Human Trafficking is the second leading criminal enterprise in the world today. 50 million victims across the world. So many children's lives hang in the balance. We need to bring awareness to protect the innocent. We need to engage in the fight to rescue the captive, and we need to provide an avenue of restoration to give freedom to those who seek it.
  • What are you raising money for right now?
The Lifeguard Group INC answered · Oct 2026We are expanding our safe house capacity. From the moment our safe house opened in 2023, we have been at or over capacity. We have expanded once by providing transitional housing to those ready to step out into an independent living environment. We are now in the process of acquiring a property to be utilized as an Acute Crisis Unit for those coming directly out of the life of exploitation. This will allow a smoother long term program as well as 6 more available beds.
  • What are your goals for next year?
The Lifeguard Group INC answered · Oct 2026Acquiring the new facility for our Acute Crisis Unit and completing the renovations to provide full mental health, healthcare, and therapeutic care to 6 more survivors.
  • What do you actually do?
The Lifeguard Group INC answered · Oct 2026The LifeGuard Group exists for one purpose: to end human trafficking and walk alongside survivors rebuild their lives through community, accountability, and meaningful work. We are a Montana-based nonprofit with a straightforward approach: Protect dignity. Tell the truth. Do the work. Because freedom is never passive.
  • What do your numbers not say?
The Lifeguard Group INC answered · Oct 2026As a privately funded nonprofit, our work depends entirely on relationships-with individuals, businesses, and faith communities who believe freedom is worth fighting for. Our goals go far beyond providing rescue and safe shelter. When a survivor comes into our care, our thought is: "What does she need to live a healthy, fulfilled life once she leaves our care.
  • What is your biggest challenge right now?
The Lifeguard Group INC answered · Oct 2026Staffing remains our greatest need. We want to provide for as many as possible, but we want it to be a quality, attentive and relational care. We would like to add, at least, 5 more staff to continue the level of care that we are known for.
  • What kinds of gifts do you accept?
The Lifeguard Group INC answered · Oct 2026Cash, Stocks, Planned Giving, Crypto Currency, Donor Advised Funds, Foundational Grants, Legacy/Memorial Giving
  • What was your biggest breakthrough?
The Lifeguard Group INC answered · Oct 2026Opening Crooked Tree Ranch, which is a 40-Acre working ranch that provides a restorative, therapeutic environment for adult women coming out of exploitation. Our program is a long-term, three phase program with the goal of preparing each survivor with life skill and resources to live a life of freedom and success. As a young organization, we have already provided over 3000 nights of safe sleep, 10,000 nutritional meals, 10,000 miles flown by our Wings of Freedom pilots, giving survivors safe passage to a safe, restorative home.
  • When and why did you start?
The Lifeguard Group INC answered · Oct 2026In 2008, I visited the nation of India. I was there to do school assemblies and to speak with youth leaders on strategies of engaging the youth culture. I was first introduced to what human trafficking was. It was something that was not easy to forget. When I left the country and returned home the thought that this was happening, not only in other countries, but in the US was horrifying to me. Working with students for my entire professional career and having 4 children of my own was all the motivation that I needed to accept the challenge. "If not me, then who?"

The names, titles, and compensation shown on this page are reproduced from IRS Form 990 filings, which are public records.

Philanthropy.org does not alter the content of those filings. All information appears exactly as reported by the filing organization for the tax year shown.

We publish only information contained in the public IRS filing — and less than the filing contains. Our profile pages do not display street addresses, telephone numbers, personal email addresses, or other personal contact information, even where the filing includes them.

Many people share the same name. A name shown on this page reflects only what one organization reported in one IRS filing for one tax year. It should not be interpreted as identifying any other individual with the same or a similar name.

If you are no longer affiliated with the organization, your name will generally stop appearing in future IRS filings once the organization no longer reports you. Pages for tax years in which you were reported remain published because those filings remain part of the public record.

Philanthropy.org does not alter or remove IRS filing records. Removing a page from this website would not remove the underlying IRS filing, which remains publicly available from the IRS and other publishers of the same information.

If you believe the IRS filing itself is inaccurate, corrections must be made by the filing organization or the IRS directly.

All figures are derived from public IRS Form 990 filings and are presented without evaluation of any organization. philanthropy.org does not rate, score, or rank organizations, including the pay comparisons above.
