Despite the impact of COVID-19 on the airline industry, membership recruitment activities continued and resulted new members: American Airlines, Deutsche Telekom, International Airlines Group (IAG), SES, Telesat and Thales Group.

In 2020, Seamless Air Alliance completed the Seamless Release 2.0 Standard. Seamless Release 2.0 completes the blueprint needed for the industry to scale the deployment of future-proof, OpenIFC systems.
