About the Center for Humane TechnologyThe Center for Humane Technology (CHT) is a San Francisco-based 501c3 nonprofit whose mission is to drive a shift toward humane technology that supports our shared well-being, our democracy, and our ability to tackle complex global challenges. Founded in 2018, CHT is grounded in principles explored in a viral presentation at Google in 2013 by then-Google design ethicist Tristan Harris. Tristans call to action A Call to Minimize Distraction & Respect Users Attention would soon move into public discourse via two TED talks and a 60 Minutes interview.
