General Programs or Home Furnishing Program

LightHouse helps formerly homeless and low-income residents transition to affordable housing. LightHouse consistently moves and furnishes residents' homes in the community, often using lightly-used, donated furniture. In 2020, LightHouse helped over 270 DC residents create a stable home.

Covid-19 Relief Efforts

LightHouse launched the program in June 2020 to meet the immediate needs of the community, as we all continue to do our part in combating COVID-19. LightHouse's COVID Relief program served over 2,000 low-income DC residents in 2020 through PPE and grocery deliveries.

Welcome Home Program

LightHouse works with local businesses, churches, and other organizations that financially sponsor a day of service for moving and fully furnishing an individual's or family's home. The organization also provides volunteers who work with our staff and program volunteers to furnish the home.
