01

National security blood donations were a monthly event. This year ended with four hundred and seventy five units of blood being given at our post home. Ten veterans placed in employement and six in job training programs. We were ready to present four jrotc medals this year and the plan is to do these presentations at some point later.

Veteran's care & rehabilitation the post service officer handled three hundred and fifty cases for veterans and sent twenty claims for congressional review and action. He also worked with ninety-four service connected veterans in filing ssdi claims; some have been approved and others pending.

Children and youth the usual party for children at christmas time was not held, but gifts were arranged for thirty-five families with sixty-two children. The christmas adopt-a-vet program was also held. In addition to local newspaper articles, our activities were featured in six articles on american legion hometown news.
