Where the work happens
Physicians for peace is committed to improving access to safe, timely surgical care by educating and training malawian surgeons, clinical officers, surgical registrars and allied health providers to increase the country's surgical capacity, quality and resilience.
Physicians for peace (PFP) became part of a core group to train the first pediatric critical care health providers in malawi. PFP uses a collaborative teaching and skills building process to teach intensive care skills that incorporate best practices and build confidence, resultingin increasing survival RATES.THIS goal will be achieved…
Central to physicians for peace's commitment to improving access to safe, timely surgical care is a collaboration with queen elizabeth central hospital to address malawi's shortage of anesthesia providers, recognizing it as a central limiting factor to perioperative care.
