The burn surgery program implemented by physicians for peace exists to provide essential skills and training that contributes to greater access to quality healthcare in under-resourced areas of the world.

Physicians for peace (PFP) became part of a core group to train the first pediatric critical care health providers in malawi. PFP uses a collaborative teaching and skills building process to teach intensive care skills that incorporate best practices and build confidence, resulting in increasing survival rates.
