Other programsCalWild also has active legislation in the Central Coast and San Gabriel Mountains. Throughout the Sierra Nevada and northwestern California, we lead efforts to administratively protect roadless areas, wilderness areas, and wild and scenic rivers through the Forest Services Plan Revision process.
Protecting Americas Wilderness and General Campaigns Our three bills in the Central Coast, Northwest, San Gabriel Mountains are CalWilds legislative priorities. Much of the staff time working on all three of these campaigns is captured by work on the PUBLIC Lands Act in the Senate, which includes all three bills.
Public Lands DefenseOur defense work covers direct threats to the bedrock laws of wilderness conservation and CalWilds work, such as proposed boundary adjustments to national monuments, legislative attempts to gut bedrock laws like the National Environmental Policy Act, and specific threats to wild places including logging, and oil and…
