Recreation

In 2020, recreation northwest expanded our parkscriptions program to work with western washington university's recreation management and leadership faculty and students. We hosted two summer interns who developed nature-based experiences for fellow students; worked with faculty to help design courses for students; and collaborated with…

Education

In 2020, recreation northwest provided leadership in advocating for outdoor recreation guides and outfitters to be able to return to work during the outset of COVID-19. Staff with washington state governor jay inslee's office to issue a memorandum on may 14, 2020.

Stewardship

In 2020, recreation northwest provided stewardship for fairhaven park including 2 work parties to remove invasive species and install plants in a new native plant garden. One of the existing gardens was transformed into a public space with a bench with a gate to provide a sense of belonging in the forest.
