Supporting Conservation Science in Africa

CARN supports science in Central Africa by providing small grants to African scientists and supporting logistics for scientists working country. In 2022 we provided 32 grants totaling $152,207 to young African researchers.

Conservation Genetics

CARN supported numerous projects to use advanced genetics techniques to understand and preserve species. We supported work on pangolins, the worlds most trafficked mammal that elucidated routes of pangolin trafficking from Africa to Asia using the DNA isolated from pangolin scales confiscated in Hong Kong.
