The Consortium hosts a fall conference and preconference workshops. In 2025, the event included 16 preconference workshops with 244 attendees. The conference included 82 presentations and 6 panel discussions with 561 full conference attendees. Four networking events were hosted or co-sponsored by the Consortium.

Education Fund

the Consortium offers annual scholarship awards to students from Minnesota institutions with qualifying GIS programs. This program began in 2000; a new student scholarship award winners competition was begun in 2005. A special scholarship account supports the program.
