Two farmers' market locations provide central texas farmers, ranchers and artisanal food businesses a venue for direct-interaction opportunities while providing the community locally-produced, seasonal foods and educating the public about nutritional, environmental and social implications of eating seasonally and locally.

The texas farmers market chef throwdown brings austin area restaurant chefs together for a friendly cooking competition sourced 100% from the farmers market. The event draws large crowds who learn from the chefs how to cook seasonally from the farmers market and how they use seasonality to inspire their own restaurant cooking.
