School the World's Global Citizenship Program is a high school through college-aged service learning program and a corporate sponsorship and philanthropic opportunity. These participants fund 50% of the construction costs with local government officials supporting the other half as mentioned above.

Recognizing the symbolic importance of new infrastructure to poor communities all School the World engagements begin with the organization's Primary School Program. This includes new infrastructure in the capacity of school classrooms bathrooms with handwashing facilities and playgrounds.

School resources books and learning materials were more critical than ever in 2020. Schools in Central America closed in March and never fully reopened by the end of that year. The rural poverty-stricken communities that we serve do not have remote learning resources and are more often than not out of reach of local government education…
