Where the work happens
In 2024, the austin disaster relief network (adrn) responded to 84 disasters across our five-county region. General disasters, which are predominantly apartment and home fires, made up 74 of the total and the remaing six were named disasters.
The adrn training department offered 21 sessions in 2024 with a total attendance of 152 people. Individuals in many cases began their training with ready to serve: volunteer orientation and moved into more advanced physical, emotional, and spiritual response training.
At headquarters and various organized intake centers through the year, highly trained volunteers conducted 86 intakes, providing emotional and spiritual support to 130 individuals through critical incident stress management plus (cism+).
