La Isla Network is dedicated to ending chronic kidney disease of undertermined causes (ckdu) among workers and their communities worldwide. Ckdu is a fatal progressive loss of kidney function that has killed more than 40,000 people in mesoamerican and sri lanka alone in the past 10 years. Treatment is out of reach for most, ensuring and early death for those affected. Ckdu is likely affecting millions through the tropics and beyond. Our mission is to increase our understanding of the mechanisims of this disease, implement prevention strategies, and develop affordable, accessible treatment options. Lin is committed to generating, supporting, and executing evidence driven solutions to end this epidemic.

Degree/Adelante Initiative

Work to understand the scope, scale and etiology of ckdu through the standardized prevalence studies around the world.
