Kindred partners administers the safe families for children program in the greater portland oregon area. Encouraging, supporting and mobilizing the local church to host children of families in crisis. Safe famileis for children equips the local church to stand upstream of child abuse and neglect and to keep families together.

The SFFC program served 81 children through 456 hostings in 2021. Our volunteers served each child and average of 2.7 times. For each child served, we served two family members, and we served 71 families in 2021. Kindred partners' staff partners with local social services providers to connect vulnerable families to resources.

Safe families for children in greater portland continued to serve vulnerable families during the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite challenges with referrals due to schools being closed, our volunteers completed 456 hostings in 2021. These community-based hosting arrangements kept children safe and deflected children from entering foster care.
