Stewardship and Trail ProjectsAt least 40 people have worked with FCT this year to build and maintain trails. Some are dependable longtime volunteers, others were enthusiastic, first time helpers.

Land protectionFreeport Conservation Trust (FCT) acquired three properties and an easement in 2020. In June, we received 9.63 acres from the estate of Horace Hildreth. The property is adjacent to FCTs Powell Point Preserve and will make a nice addition to the preserve.

Community Outreach In March our world was rocked by the coronavirus pandemic. At FCT, we quickly realized that although people from Freeport and the region were staying close to home, they were getting out often, more than ever before, to explore local trails.
