This position assists with supervising staff and volunteers, processing donations, merchandising inventory, and ensuring excellent customer service. The Assistant Manager helps maintain efficient store operations to maximize revenue that supports agency programs and services.

Requirements

Job Responsibilities: Store Operations & Merchandising Assist the Thrift Store Manager with daily store operations including opening and closing procedures. Help oversee the processing of donated items including sorting, tagging, pricing, displaying, and organizing merchandise. Ensure merchandise is rotated regularly and that excess or unusable items are disposed of appropriately. Maintain attractive, organized, and safe displays throughout the store. Assist with maintaining inventory levels and stocking merchandise as needed. Support the use of point-of-sale systems and ensure accurate processing of sales transactions. Help maintain store cleanliness, organization, and safety standards.

Staff & Volunteer Support Assist in supervising thrift store staff and volunteers during shifts. Help train volunteers and new staff on store procedures and customer service expectations. Support the scheduling of staff and volunteers to ensure adequate coverage during operating hours. Provide guidance and support to staff and volunteers to ensure tasks are completed efficiently. Communicate concerns, successes, or performance issues to the Thrift Store Manager. Customer Service Provide excellent customer service to all guests, donors, and community members. Ensure staff and volunteers maintain professional and welcoming interactions with customers.

Address customer concerns and assist in resolving issues when they arise. Promote a positive shopping and donation experience for all visitors.
