Job Summary

The General Maintenance Worker performs general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings requiring practical skill and knowledge (but not proficiency) in such trades as painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electrical work.

Work involves a variety of the following duties: replacing electrical receptacles, wires, switches, fixtures, and motors, using plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings, repairing or replacing sinks, water coolers, and toilets painting structures and equipment; repairing or replacing concrete floors, steps, and sidewalks, replacing damaged paneling and floor tiles, hanging doors and installing door locks, replacing broken window panes, and performing general maintenance on equipment and machinery. Excluded are: a. Craft workers included in a formal apprenticeship or progression program based on training and experience; b.

Skilled craft workers required to demonstrate proficiency in one or more trades. Primary Duties Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions . These duties and responsibilities will be rated on the Annual Performance Review. Responsible for ensuring that all electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment within the data center is operating at peak efficiency. This involves both planned preventative maintenance of equipment, daily corrective work, and emergency response to emergent issues. Responsible for supporting duties as assigned for Facility Maintenance.

Responsible for responding in a timely manner to scheduled/unscheduled work requests for a variety of maintenance issues. Additional Responsibilities Report to supervisor any damaged or faulty equipment, or other safety hazard. Maintains a clean, neat orderly work area. Comply with OSHA guidelines. Participate in all other training required by funding source(s) and/or the Corporation such as Human Rights training. Daily walk-through of facility documenting parameters such as power availability, temperature and humidity, alarm status, etc. to be catalogued and compared for identification of discrepancies and trends.

Ability to understand site-specific processes and procedures such as how to report an incident or outage, procedure execution, PM standards, CMMS system, as well as the use of SharePoint to access CE procedures and training content. Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
