Where the work happens
In FY 22-23 EDC provided services to 2,622 unique individuals across all programs. The majority of clients served were San Francisco tenants at the highest risk of eviction and potential homelessness. Over 80% were low income, and 72% were Black, Indigenous, People of Color.
Legal services including tenant counseling and full scope legal representation in an eviction matter: The Eviction Defense Collaborative (EDC)walk-in Right to Counsel legal clinic provided limited and pro per services to 1,094 unique individuals providing 1,118 points of limited legal services.
The Shelter Client Advocates(SCA) program served 387 unhoused individuals residing in shelters funded by the City and County of San Francisco who were facing Denials of Service (DOS, or eviction) from such shelters. The SCA team completed 586 shelter hearings and arbitrations for Denials of Service.
