During the governor declared state of emergency in california related to COVID-19, child action, inc. Used new tools and flexibility to serve local child care needs. As the lead coordinator of the emergency supply, demand, and referral response for sacramento county, child action, inc.

In 2020/2021, child action, inc. Provided child care referrals to 2,616 families for 3,301 children. Twenty-eight percent (28%) of parents needed child care for infants, thirty-five percent (35%) for preschool age children, and thirty-seven percent (37%) for school-age care.
