There were approximately 15,000 children at the title 1 schools of the fort worth independent school district in fort worth, texas, screened for eye conditions in 2022 by 300 trained volunteers. 3,000 students failed the screening and therefore were provided a comprehensive eye exam by pediatric optometrists.
