Maintain

Volunteer-Driven Park Maintenance In 2023, the Conservancy engaged nearly 1,000 volunteers who contributed 3,000 hours to park maintenance. Activities included uncovering historic stone waterways from the 1940s, installing native plants throughout the park, painting benches, repairing picnic tables, and installing safety fencing.

Restore

Northwoods Trail RestorationIn 2023, the Chastain Park Conservancy completed the restoration of historic nature trails in the Northwoods area. The project rehabilitated one mile of crushed slate trails and bridges, connecting historic pavilion and grill sites.

Enhance

Allison Brown Native Garden The Conservancy installed the Allison Brown Native Garden along the PATH near the American Legion. This outdoor educational garden promotes native plantings in the area and supports our partnership with American Legion Post 140.
