Where the work happens
Riverkeepers Education and Field Programs remediated 18 properties affected by the Glass fire, continued restoration of 357 acres of floodplain wetlands and provided educational presentations to over 19 community groups and the public.
Russian Riverkeepers Advocacy Program submitted more than 26 major policy and permit comment letters and testified at over 38 public meetings and regulatory hearings. Major focuses included water use demand management in the drought, water rights enforcement, protecting river flows, pollution control, bacteria TMDL, county general…
Russian Riverkeepers Clean Team program removed over 358,000 pounds of trash and over 235 tires from the Russian River and local creeks in 2021. The Clean Camp program engaged over 200 homeless individuals living along our waterways to maintain a clean camp environment and bag trash for weekly pickup to keep it out of the river.
