Staff fluent in spanish and patois reduced barriers to care for some program enrollees by increasing their access to care which thereby improved their health outcomes and awareness of beneficial services. Clients were receptive to the nutirtion education which sometimes conflicted with their current food & lifestyle choices.

The organization again partnered with the frederiksted health center to disperse hiv self-testing kits to local residents. Clients who submitted their results to an anonymous portal were rewarded with an additional incentive.

Vipi provided emergency financial assistance to 14 low income individuals through funding from the community foundation. Urgent needs during this period were major appliances, household items, airfare, emegency utility bill payments, lab work and other various urgent needs.
