Charles r. Drew charter school serves as a key component of the CRADLE-TO-COLLEGE/CAREER continuum within the holistic east lake neighborhood revitalization. Drew was founded for the purpose of providing an excellent education to the children living in the villages of east lake.

During fiscal year 2021, drew charter school provided a variety of academic, athletic, and enrichment activities designed to enhance students' school experience and broaden their horizons. Orchestra, robotics, theatre, social justice, and student government are just a sampling of the over 50 enrichment offerings drew provided.
