Richard Williams Leadership Academy

Mentored 28 at-risk youth in 5TH grade through high school providing tutoring, leadership and life skills training to facilitate their success academically and eventually in post-education careers. The programs included after-school supplemental education, college visits for high schoolers and a weeklong summer camp on a college campus.

Sponsored the annual martin luther king, JR. Educational and cultural celebration event. The event included inspirational remembrances of his life and legacy with a focus on preserving and promoting the ideals of racial equality.

Recognition of outstanding heroic and humanitarian service to the local community. RECIPIENTS/HONOREES this year were deputy greg mccowan (posthumously) and deputy shelby eggers of blount county sheriff's department.
