During 2024 Middleburg Humane Foundation (MHF), a designated no-kill shelter, took in 675 cats, dogs, equines, livestock, pocket pets and reptiles. MHF also participated in an animal transport program which is a collaboration with other rescue groups to save pets from possible euthanasia.

Community Cat Program

MHF's community cat program directly impacted approximately 615 cats during 2024. We provided Trap-Neuter-Return for approximately 240 stray and feral cats from numerous sites in Fauquier and surrounding counties.

Clinic

Our in-house veterinary clinic was fully operational during 2024 with a combination of paid staff and volunteer veterinarians, veterinary technicians and veterinary assistants. Volunteer vets were also able to help with the TNR program.
