Opera Lafayette recorded the world premiere of Morgiane as part of its ongoing mission to rediscover and create a legacy of lost works. Morgiane is the first known opera by a Black American composer, and its recording represents a significant contribution to the operatic canon and historical understanding of American musical heritage.
