Where the work happens
The okkids program was created in 2001 to help encourage kids in getting back to the outdoors, learning about the environment. Since its inception, more than 87,000 children and adults have participated at day-long events held at more than 58 sites around the state of kansas.
As part of the foundation's mission to enhance access to the enjoyment of both public and private land for outdoor recreation use, the kansas wildscape foundation's cabins project was initiated. Since 2004, the foundation has privately funded 70 cabins to date throughout the network of kansas state parks and public lands.
The foundation continually works with the kansas department of wildlife and parks longside education, conservancy, restoration, sportsmen and other outdoor groups to identify projects and needs in fulfillment of the foundation's dedication to conserving and perpetuating the land, the wild species, and the rich beauty of kansas for the…
