Affordable housing indy gateway has expanded its partnership with area 31 construction trades program, which is housed at ben davis high school, to build houses during the academic school year. The third house built in the drexel gardens neighborhood closed in the summer of 2019. The 2019-2020 build began in august 2019.

Economic development efforts continues as indy gateway is partnered with the city of indianapolis to implement the westside strategic revitalization & airport tif implementation action plan.

In 2016 the shelton heights neighborhood worked with the city of indianapolis to demolish a mobile home park at 3844 rockville avenue on the west side of indianapolis after it was left abandoned by its owner. The abandonment of granny lloyd's trailer park led to crime and undesirable activity for the neighborhood.
