Portland Area Artist Emergency Relief Fund

Due to COVID closures, NEW provided a one time program to meet the growing needs for artists in the Portland area because of ongoing health and economic crisis. It benefitted artists residing in Multnomah, Washington and Clackamas.

Choreographers Residency Program

6 choreographers received incubation space a modest stipend to develop a 20 minute long new work. 6 choreographers and 18 collaborators benefited from this program. Normally there would be a performance element involved but due to COVID we were not able to fulfil that option.

Affordable performance, teaching, rehearsal, incubation space spanning cultural and artistic genres and physical abilities. Regular multicultural weekly classes, 12 new performance works (first 3 months of the year, after which COVID hit) and dance workshops were presented at N.E.W.
